My wife and I volunteer once a month at the Missouri Botanical Garden Visitor desk, and usually on our ride to and from the Garden we listen to the Growing Greener podcast. There always seems to be a topic worth listening to for us native gardeners. The topic we heard this morning was, “A Rich Source of Native Lawn and Groundcover Plants”. It covers research on the Carex genus grown at the trial garden at Delaware’s Mt. Cuba Center. The results of the study are of great use to us, even though it covers Mid-Atlantic states with many species common to both our areas.
There are several other research studies at Mt. Cuba site to check out.
